Derrick: "This is totally true Jenna and it happens so often. Sometimes we don't even see it or recognize what's really going on. One thing that I thought of while reading this was;
How many times do we find ourselves in a hurry driving, trying to get where we need to go, and we look in our rear view mirror only to see an ambulance or fire truck hauling down the street flashing its lights and sounding its siren. And our first thoughts are "...oh great, now I gotta slow down & pull over for this guy..." But maybe we're just not recognizing the opportunity that was made available to us. The opportunity to PRAY. That "Call to Action" that Jenna is talking about. As beleivers our prayers avail much, and should be utilized in any opportunity presented. We must begin to train ourselves to be more sensitive to the Holy Spirit & respond in such a way that pleasing to our Father. Willing & obedient.
What if we decide not to pray for that situation with the ambulance, and it turns out to be traveling to one of our close friends or relatives house....will it have been too late ?"

Prayer---hmmm
Sometimes I get overwhelming feelings or emotions internally and feel "touched" by something, a situation, a person, or etc...For example, I may hear about a person's difficulties and have deep compassion and emotion for the person BUT....
God has recently been teaching me, calling me, to pray immediately at these moments. Many times we can just have these feelings, these emotions, but that is as far as it goes. What is the point then??? Without action, without PRAYER, then these are just feelings....and the unction God is giving us inside our hearts...we are just ignoring and it will slip away. When I ignore these unctionings...I continue with my day/s...and often times come to a place where I seek yet another "feeling" or "touch" from God...because I just want the deep feelings. BUT when God gives us unctionings/feelings..these are not for US to confirm to ourselves that we do have hearts...but RATHER...these are a call to ACTION..to PRAYER!!
Other times, I believe we have these feelings or "touches" because God wants to reveal to us ideas-passions-dreams-and etc. A situation may touch you and spark an idea that you take ACTION upon. For example, a woman who is touched about a un-wed teen mother may want to start an organization that helps these teens. The holy spirit tugged on this woman's heart..gave her the idea...and BOOM..there she goes!
BUT SEE....when the above does not happen..when we are not revealed a specific idea or action to take....the answer is PRAY....if we do not...then again...these were just feelings...and as we all know feelings come and go. I suggest we take these opportunities to pray earnestly about whatever is "touching" our hearts at THAT moment because before we know it....the day..week..month will pass away and the feelings along with these. Often times we don't feel like praying (which is not an excuse to not pray)....but instead we will yearn for the "feeling" or the "touch" in order to take action..in order to pray....but my fellow brothers and sisters...this should never be! I often long for the feeling....I want God to give me a deep emotion or something of that sort so that I can feel something...which I think will make me want to pray or make me pray with more passion or what not..BUT it's not so much a matter of feeling as it is a matter of OBEDIENCE!
Please read this verse:
"and pray in the spirit ON ALL OCCASIONS...with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind BE ALERT and ALWAYS KEEP PRAYING FOR ALL THE SAINTS." (ephesians 6:18)
When this verse says.."be alert"...I think -be in constant action-...be a constant prayer warrior!! Then is says..'always keep praying'...UM hello..how much more clear does that need to be? WOW, may prayer always be on my lips!!! Holy Spirit...continue to remind me and my sisters and brothers in christ of this and reveal this to us in an even deeper way!!

Hey guys!! I am super excited about blogging :)
First off, I would like to say....ignore the first 13 posts because they were for a spanish history project. I mean unless you wanna read about the history of Spain in spanish.....be my guest!

10. Francisco Franco (1936-1975)
Francisco Franco fue el dictador de España por treinta y nueve años, 1936-1975.Franco fue un líder importante de España. Franco estableció una forma autoritaria y fascista del gobierno. Durante su dictadura, España participó en la guerra civil, la segunda guerra mundial y la guerra fría. Los españoles experimentaron mucha opresión política durante su dictadura. Después de su muerte en 1975, España comenzó una transición a la democracia.

9. La guerra civil
La guerra civil española empezó en 1936 y duró hasta que 1939. El libro describe la guerra como "un auténtico baño de sangre" (268). Había un grupo de nacionalistas (por el liderazgo de Francisco Franco) que no la apoyaron a la II República. Esto comenzó una división de dos partidos, la república y los nacionalistas (los rebeldes). La guerra terminó con la victoria de los nacionalistas.
Este acontecimiento es importante porque Francisco Franco tomó el liderazgo de España (a causa de la victoria de las nacionalistas). También, esta guerra "fue un acontecimiento que provocó el interés de medio mundo" (286). Además, la guerra afectado mucho a la segunda guerra mundial.

8. La Guerra de La independencia
La gente de Madrid empezó una rebelión contra de Napoleón en 1808. Durante este tiempo, Napoleón controlaba la mayoría de la península iberia. Con la ayuda de los ingleses y la formación de los guerrilleros, España ganó la independencia. La guerra terminó en 1814.
Este es importante porque la guerra paró la ocupación francesa por la península iberia. También, esta guerra, incluye las tácticas de guerrilleros, serviría como un modelo para “la independencia de nuestros dominios, como México y todo América del sur.” (216)

7. 1492
Finalmente en 1492, los reinos cristianos conquistaron todo los territorios musulmanes. El último territorio conquistado fue la cuidad Granada. También, durante este tiempo, el reino de Isabel y Fernando, Cristóbal Columbus descubrió a América. ¡Qué importante!

6. La reconquista de España
El Reino asturiano fundado por Pelayo y la batalla de Covadonga en 722 A.D. son los principios de la reconquista de España. Los estados cristianos se unieron y juntos derrotaron a los musulmanes. La reconquista duró ochocientos años hasta que 1492.
Esto es importante porque España fue ahora una nación cristiana y consiguió el poder en Europa. También, durante este tiempo, los reinos cristianos hablaron de una forma de latín, particularmente castellano, y porque de eso el español desarrollaba como el idioma dominante en España.

5. La invasión árabe-711 A.D.
Los árabes tomaron el control de España en 711 A.D. Ellos diseminaron el Califato (las creencias y los conceptos políticos de los musulmanes). Los árabes designaron a la ciudad Córdoba como la capital de Califato.
Estos acontecimientos son importantes porque los árabes diseminaron la religión islámica a través de España y desarrollaron la ciudad Córdoba que llegó a ser el más hermoso y el más poblado de las ciudades de Europa. También, Córdoba “brilló por las Artes y las Letras" (86). Ellos construyeron los monumentos y los edificios y escribieron la poesía y la literatura famosa. Estas mejoras son importantes para el desarrollo de la historia y la cultura de España.

-Es un edificio más famoso de España que simboliza los cambios religiosos de Córdoba. El arte y la arquitectura fueron originadas por los arquitectos islámicos.
4. La Romanización:
Los romanos tomo el poder después de la segunda guerra púnica. Finalmente Roma tenía todo el poder y podía dominar a España. Este empezó una ocupación romana que duró por siete centurias. Los romanos fueron crueles y saquearon y esclavizaron a los iberos y celtiberos. ‘Roma no paga los traidores’ (50)

3. La segunda guerra púnica-218-201 B.C.
Aníbal ideó un ataque contra de Roma lo que cambiaría el mundo. Anibal viajó con los soldados y los elefantes (ellos utilizaron los elefantes en las batallas) por los Alpes para que conquiste a Italia. El derrotó a las tropas romanas y ganó el control de Italia. Después, Cepión, el líder romano, derrotó a Cartago. Aníbal fue forzado a abandonar Italia y trató de guardar su patria (África-Cartago), pero él no lo pude.
Esto es importante porque muestra cómo Roma ganó el poder de la Mediterránea que duraría por mucho tiempo.

2. Aníbal tomó el liderazgo del Cartago
Aníbal tomó el liderazgo de los cartagineses después de la muerte de su padre. El padre tenía un deseo: conquistar a Roma. Durante este tiempo, fue dos imperios del Mediterráneo, Roma y Cartago. Los dos son enemigos durante las guerras púnicas. Pronto, después de tomar el liderazgo de Cartago, Aníbal empezaba ampliar el dominio de Cartago sobre la España. Cartago tenía Sicilia and África y capturó Salamanca en España.
Este es importante porque Aníbal consiguió mucho poder y luego lleva un gran ataque contra de Roma durante la segunda guerra púnica. El fue un gran parte de la primera y la segunda guerras púnicas. 1. 1600 B.C.-Los Iberos
Me encantan las líneas en Una Historia Pequeña:“De Pronto, el mundo se puso en movimiento. Es como si se oyera una voz que dijera que muy lejos había un hermoso país, de buenos pastos, de amplias llanuras, donde el sol brillaba, y que además estaba despoblado” (38).
Estas líneas me hacen pensar de una imagen del mundo particularmente España que tenía la más belleza. En 1600 B.C. Los iberos llegaron a España desde África por el mar. Me imagino un país consiste de un paisaje con una buena vista. Los iberos son uno de los grupos migratorios que invadieron España.
Este es importante porque los iberos cultivan los ríos y ahora hay un gran número de los iberos que viven en España. También, España es una parte del “Iberian Peninsula” que recibió su nombre desde los iberos.
